The Cheshire Ring is a remarkable circular canal journey, that comprises some 97 miles of cruising. You travel through some of the most exciting and varied landscapes on the canal map, from the Derbyshire Peak District to the Cheshire plain and right into the heart of our largest northern city.

Also included in this DVD, off the ring, is Buxworth Basin on the Peak Forest, and Worseley. You will also see a ship making a passage through the locks of the nearby Manchester Ship Canal.

The Four Counties Ring ia a 109 mile, 94 lock circular route which slices through the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire. It comprises 3 separate canals, each with their own unique character and charm.

The Shropshire Union Canal visits a scattering of tiny canal-side towns and villages, the Middlewich Branch then joins to the Trent & Mersey Canal, taking you directly into the heart of the Potteries. The twists and turns of the Staffs & Worcs Canal complete the link in this aquatic roundabout, marking a return to the sweeping meadows of the Shroppie.

In addition, the Caldon Canal has been included as an offshoot to the main ring.

This is a completely new programme, scripted and filmed from scratch. Starting in the East End at Limehouse, we travel over the Regent's Canal. We pass right alongside three main line rail stations and find out why they were all built along the line of the canal.

On the return leg we rocket down-river on a Spring ebb tide, past the Houses of Parliament, St Pauls and under Tower Bridge back into Limehouse.

The South Pennine Ring has been made possible by the recent re-opening of the Rochdale and the Huddersfield Narrow Canals. The ring includes the Ashton Canal, Sir John Ramsden's Canal and the Calder & Hebble Navigation.

It takes you through the longest canal tunnel in the world underneath Standedge Moor. Your boat is cocooned in rubber and towed through the tunnel by electric tug in a convoy.

You can experience the delights of the trip without having to work the 107 wide and 92 narrow locks yourself.

This ring offers a delightful holiday cruise around the canals of the heart of England. You'll travel over some of the oldest narrow canals, and over one of the last major canal improvements, the Grand Union, upgraded to a wide canal in the 1930s.

Starting at Braunston, travel up to Birmingham, out along the Birmingham & Fazeley to join the Coventry Canal. Then the Oxford Canal back to Braunston.
